Feature Friday: What if?

Who Am I? #11 | Its My Say:

Have you ever sat and wondered what if?

What if I chose that job over the current one?

What if I stuck to the Christian lifestyle?

What if I just lived for only me?

The brain has an unique way of allowing us to reflect on the past and wondered what if. It places us in a sombre mood then we question the decisions we made. We welcome ourselves in a dark state which propels us to believe that we are never good enough. We will never get that dream job, house or even a spouse. It also tells us that we will never experience true happiness.
If you’re like me, then you’re curious if the fleeting moments of happiness are enough since we will never get lost in complete serenity and bliss.

But what if I told you that without pain there is no happiness or that the rainbow doesn’t come until the rain has subsided.

“If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life”. – Marcus Garvey
We need to start believing in ourselves and the decisions we make. We cannot change the past we can only use it to shape the future.

Mistakes are learning lessons. Garvey said, “no confidence in self [then] we are twice defeated”.  We need to start embracing a renewed outlook on life and in ourselves. Let’s look at a mountain; if we look closely, we will realize that it has many hills before it reaches its peak.

Life is similar to mountains. We cannot reach our highest point if we do not experience difficulties, hardships, and obstacles. We need to have the confidence to push through, to smile, to rejoice and to thank God.

Just smile and think you are enough! – Raymona Samuel
